Advancement Project Preemption Zine (2025)

Project Description:
Last year we had the pleasure of collaborating with Advancement Project on a 24-page zine. We worked closely with Denise and Nidya from October through December, making it one of our longest projects of the year.

There were many details to work out in the creation of the zine. Primarily how to depict preemption in a way that was digestible and engaging to a large audience of readers. Cori and Denise had many conversations about who was being featured in the zine illustrations and how they were being portrayed. Every detail was discussed – from the tattoos on a character’s arms to their shoes and the period appropriateness of their clothing. Check out some of the illustrations here and be sure to read the full zine here.
